30 DAYS PREPARATION PLAN FOR IBPS PO EXAM 2018


In the previous session, we discussed the important aspects such as the exam pattern, syllabus, test series, preparation tips exclusively for the Prelims exam.
In this session we will cover IBPS PO exam as a whole.

As you already know that IBPS PO is classified into two main exams, namely the Prelims and the Mains.

Let us look at each topic in detail.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern:

You may note that the IBPS PO Exam date will be on 13th, 14th, 20th & 21st of October 2018, and the Mains would be conducted on the 18th of November 2018.

IBPS PO Mains Exam pattern 2018:
There is a descriptive paper included in the Mains for IBPS PO 2018. The Mains exam is also held online, with 4 sections holding a total score of 200 marks to be answered in 180 minutes. The descriptive paper has 1 section with a total score of 25 marks to be answered in 30 minutes.

The syllabus for the Mains comprises 5 sections, namely:

with the Descriptive test comprising Letter writing and Essay.

We shall now look at the preparation plan for IBPS PO exam.

It is very important to follow the exam pattern and the syllabus for setting a rigid preparation plan. Prioritise more on the difficult subjects and assign extra time so that you don’t miss out any important topic. Solve as many practice tests as you can. It will help you build your speed for calculation.

Find practice tests with answer keys to analyse the weak areas and work more on those areas for improvement. It is ideal to practice the previous years’ questions papers to get a hint about the type of questions expected. You could find more challenging questions online too. Try to solve them as well.

Time management and accuracy should be well-balanced. Accuracy also plays an important role as there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for the wrong answers given.
Get the top books to practice IBPS PO Mock test series. You could also solve online mock tests to get more challenging and variety of questions. It will surely help you in solving any type of questions during the exam.

It is important that you solve as many mock tests as possible but there should be adequate time allotted for the revision to be done. Revision includes memorising the tables, formulas and other important points useful for the exam. Do not extend solving mock tests till the last minute. It leads to loss of time for recalling the important points and other revisions to complete.
